We met on New Year's Eve 2001. I lived in Florida, and she in New Jersey. Pulling up her profile was by accident because I wasn't looking for a long distant relationship, but the more I read, the more I had to know about her. The more I got to know about her, I realized I had to meet her. Two weeks after our first email, I was picking her up at Pensacola Airport, filled with anxiety, nervousness, and excitement just anticipating what she would be like. There was that first sense of awkwardness in not knowing whether to kiss, hug or shake hands. But after getting her luggage and walking back to my truck, we were holding hands, and chatting away like we'd known each other for years.

We found out that we had a lot more in common than we thought. Everything we did, we could share with each other. We had the same sense of humor, the same intellect, and the same type of personalities, and the more time we spent with each other, the less we wanted to be apart.

Over the next few months, we saw each other when we could, we talked everyday, and we wrote whenever there was time in between our schedules. After discussing it for several weeks, we finally decided that I should move to New Jersey, and I did. Six months later we were married, and both of us agree that life has never been better.

Now we have a beautiful son, a fantastic marriage, and a life filled with happiness. Date.com gave us the ability to meet. It helped to bridge the distance between us and allowed us the opportunity to meet where conventional dating methods constrained us to our local areas. We feel that we owe Date.com a debt of gratitude for fulfilling our dreams. We searched without success for over thirty years, but Date.com put us together in less than two months. Not bad.”
