HER STORY: "We were both divorced with two kids each. Neither of us was looking to get married again, we just wanted to find someone to hang out with, be friends, etc. I was getting on the site to remove my profile and he had just signed up through an email ad he received. I hadn't had any real luck; I met some guys. A few turned out to be good friends, but no romance. I had pretty much given up, and then I received an email telling me that he liked my picture and wanted to talk. So I called him and we talked for hours. We talked everyday for hours for about 4 days. Then I decided to get up the nerve to go meet him. I hadn't had real success so I wasn't about to get my hopes up this time. So I decided that one day after work I would meet him and off I went, I took my kids with me this time. I wanted their opinions, they didn't much care for the other guys I had met, but they just loved him and his kids. The rest is history; we haven't been apart from that moment on, except to go to work. We moved in with each other unofficially right away, and then six months later it was official. I moved out of my own house and into his. We were married May 13, 2005 and are living happily ever after."
HIS STORY: "I was just starting a divorce after 16 years of marriage. I had just totally given up any hope that my ex-wife and I would get back together, after all, she had had numerous affairs. I received what at the time I thought was 'Junk' e-mail from Date.com. I had received numerous e-mail of this type from other sources and for some reason when I received this one, I just knew in my mind it was over for my current wife and I. I decided to look to see what Date.com was about. I ended up using some free trial period, created a profile, and just submitted a picture of myself. I remember clicking on a link to see who was on in my area at the time. A list of beautiful ladies appeared on my screen. I then saw Lisa online. I loved her eyes and hair in the picture. I thought, no way would she want to see me, or I'm sure it's not real. I sent a quick e-mail to her which stated "Hi, I saw you online and just thought I would say Hi. If you would like to contact me back, here is my email address." That was all I did. The next day, I received a reply from her, to my surprise. We emailed back and forth for a day or two, then we exchanged phone numbers. The first night we talked for about 3 hours, then second about 4 hours, and the third about 5 or 6 hours. We were supposed to meet on that coming Saturday night. She said she would call me to find a time and place to meet.
That Saturday, she said she had to go to the airport to meet a friend. I tried calling her, but only got voicemail. I never heard from her all day and assumed I got stood up, or she had changed her mind. Later that night, around 9 pm, I heard from her. It was too late to meet, so we just talked some more. I had just started a new job and a couple of days later; It was almost time to go home. I am a manager at a grocery store, and while I was at a check stand, Lisa and her children appeared in my line - mind you, she lived about 30 miles away at the time. I instantly recognized her from her picture. I was shocked and surprised! We said hello and I told her I was off work in about 15 minutes if she wanted to wait for me to talk. She waited out front and we talked for a bit. Since I live less than a mile from where I worked, I suggested we could go to my home and talk. We went to my house and introduced my two boys to her two girls. They played in the rooms while we talked. We talked for about an hour or so and then she left. We spoke later that night on the phone as well. I met her the next night after she got off work, and ever since that day, we have been together every day since. She was going through her divorce as well, and she helped me get through mine, taking her time with me and not forcing me to get it done. I later was told that she had gone onto the Date.com site that evening to delete her profile. Though she had met some people on it, I guess it just wasn't panning out for her needs. So it just so happened that the day I signed up, was the day she was leaving and I just happened to email her before she deleted her profile. She was happy and surprised to receive the contact info. from me and decided to try it one last time. Date.com worked for me in less than 24 hours, and we are very happy together. I have suggested this site to everyone I know. Thank you, Date.com, for helping me to find my true love."
